Ay Caramba! If you’ve ever wished you could take a trip to Springfield, then now is your chance as fans of The Simpsons can experience it without having to leave Manchester. Following on from the store’s pop-up cafes dedicated to all things Spongebob Squarepants, Hello Kitty, Stitch and The Grinch, which were based at both the Trafford Palazzo ands Market Street sites, The Simpsons has now taken over the Primark stores with a cafe that you dough-nut want to miss out on.
The Simpsons cafe has opened its doors at Primark stores in Manchester Trafford, Manchester Market Street, Birmingham, Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow Braehead, where fans have the opportunity to be immersed into the cartoon world of The Simpsons. From this January until the beginning of May, the cafés will feature décor inspired by The Simpsons television programme and its iconic characters Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and more, so you can get a taste of some of the foods that Homer notoriously drooled over.
Plus, at The Simpsons cafe at Primark you won’t have to eat my shorts as they will be serving up an array of limited-edition treats inspired by the cartoon series that has been going for 35 years such as pink Homer doughnuts complete with those iconic sprinkles and “sacrelicious” butter bacon waffles consisting of a waffle topped with bacon, butter, caramel sauce, fudge pieces and whipped cream. Visitors will also find a range of doughnuts to choose from available individually and in boxes of four and nine as well as shortbread waffles, The Club Toastie and The Loaded Toastie on the menu.
And d’oh not forget the drinks. You can sip on a range of milkshakes at The Simpsons cafe in Primark including the Nuts & Bubblegum Shake topped with whipped cream, mixed nuts, bubble gum sauce, sprinkles and a bubble gum lace and of course the Doughnut Shake that comes topped with the signature sprinkled Simpsons-style doughnut.
Tim Kelly, Director of New Business Development at Primark, said: “We’re serving up a slice of Springfield with our latest cafe theme, giving fans a taste of The Simpsons right in our stores. We’re always looking for new ways to create fun and memorable experiences for our customers and our themed cafes have been a big hit. We can’t wait to see everyone’s reaction in store.”
The Simpsons cafe will be open until the start of May at Primark Manchester Trafford 10am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, 10am to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 11.30am to 5pm on Sundays. The cafe at Market Street is open 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 4pm on Sundays.
