After some time absolutely smashing it in Norway, smashed burger joint Doug’s has announced that it is expanding and will be making a beeline for Manchester. Led by the team behind the North’s much loved Madre, Medlock Canteen and London’s Breddos tacos, the Oslo-based burger spot will be bringing their smash-hit to Manchester, marking its fourth location.
The Oklahoma style burger joint will be serving up a classic menu of burgers alongside some fresh takes on everyone’s favourites. Setting itself apart from other burger spots in the city, Doug’s will be offering the Happier Meal, which consists of a burger, fries and a martini – cheers to that!
Serving 11am until midnight, seven days a week, from this December on Manchester’s Oxford Road, every patty is hand-pressed using premium dry-aged beef with super thin sliced onions smashed into the patty, which gives the signature Oklahoma style. The star of the show is the Classic Cheeseburger – smashed patty, onions, cheese, mustard, ketchup, pickles and Doug’s special sauce.
Other burgers on Doug’s menu include Double Royale, Triple Cheeseburger, Oklahoma Chilli Cheese and The Lucky Chip which consists of a smashed patty, grilled and steamed onions, blue cheese, pineapple pickled jalapeños, bacon and ranch. Also featured on the menu will be a selection of fried chicken sandwiches, hot tenders and fries.
Need something a little stronger with your burger? Diners will also find wine, beer and cocktails all on the menu. As for the early diners, Doug’s Breakfast Buns, which include Bacon, Egg & Cheese; Sausage, Egg & Cheese and Shroom, Egg & Cheese, with the likes of honey mustard or chipotle ketchup, will be served all day from 11am.
Set to open this December, the Doug’s flagship restaurant in Manchester will be located within Circle Square on Oxford Road, and will be open for both eat in and take-out. Doug’s currently has three restaurants in Oslo (Mathallen, Aker Brygge and Bjørvika) and the Manchester site will be their first UK branch.
