Teen sensation and worldwide sweetheart Olivia Rodrigo has announced her world tour dates and locations today, coinciding with the release of her new album GUTS.
We’re particularly excited here in Manchester as Olivia’s tour will hit our newest music venue, the Co-op Live Arena, on Friday 3 May 2024. The arena was partly funded by the region’s own superstar Harry Styles, and will see inaugural shows from the Jonas Brothers and Niall Horan.
Olivia Rodrigo rose to fame during lockdown when she released her debut album Sour, at the age of 18, and songs including good 4 u and drivers license became hits on TikTok and official charts alike. After a career-defining performance at Glastonbury Festival in 2022, new album GUTS promises to deliver the usual Olivia angst, with a slightly more mature tone, surely cementing her for good as THE popstar of a generation.
Olivia has already had success with tracks released from GUTS, with bad idea right? and vampire getting substantial airplay worldwide, and the latter claiming the no.1 spot on the UK charts at the start of the month – evidently, we really like her.
In addition to the Manchester date on May 3, Olivia will be taking the GUTS world tour to Glasgow, Birmingham and London the following week, continuing to immense arenas around Europe and North America.
Support will come from Remi Wolf in the UK, a fellow Californian of Rodrigo’s whose upbeat pop-indie hybrid sound will likely appeal to the demographic at the Co-op Live Arena and beyond.
Olivia Rodrigo fans will need to register to be in with a chance of getting tickets to the GUTS world tour, with registration now open until Sunday 17 September at 10pm here. Tickets will then be on sale from Thursday 21 September at 3pm… so good 4 u if you manage to cop some!
