Manchester is renowned for being packed with vegan options for every kind of cuisine, and what could be better than all the vegan food you could possibly need for Christmas all under one roof? Northern Vegan Christmas Festival will take place this weekend, providing the ultimate inspiration for vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians, those thinking about going vegan or wanting to include more vegan products in their life – everyone is welcome.
The Northern Vegan Christmas Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring 100 stalls, including a huge selection of cooked foods, pies, cakes, chocolates, sandwiches and salads, cheeses, healthy treats, sweet treats and many more. There will also be vegan beauty and skincare products, candles, jewellery, crafts, clothing, drinks, juices, smoothies and charity merchandise on offer, so whatever your penchant, there’s something for you.
There’ll be products you won’t find in the supermarket, recipes, nutritional advice and budget cooking ideas, free samples, talks, cookery demonstrations and much more. Featured stalls include Bels Vegan Bakes, Bamboo Bobbi and Miracle’s Mission, a non-profit animal welfare organisation that works with sick, injured and difficult animals.
Try some vegan delights from local Manchester caterers, including vegan ‘duck’ from Gillie Foods, the taste of East Africa from Salford’s House of Habesha, vegan street food from Seitan’s Kebab, and of course vegan junk food with a wholesome twist from Manchester’s Wholesome Junkies.
Talks and workshops include ‘Understanding Your Protein Needs as a Vegan’ with Chibuikem Osuchukwu from Gudee, ‘3 Tips To Build A Strong Body And A Strong Mind’ with mindset coach Sophie Banyard and ‘Incorporating Healthier Vegan Foods & Sea Vegetables’ by Julie Silver, The Vitality Fairy.
There’ll also be cookery demonstrations throughout the afternoon to give attendees inspiration and ideas for their ow cooking, with Neha from Vegilite, COOK! with the Vegetarian Society and Lucy from Lucy’sFriendlyFoods.
Festival Organiser, Victoria Bryceson, comments: “I’m really excited about this year’s Northern Vegan Christmas Festival. We have more stalls this year, 100 in total, so it promises to be bigger and better than ever […] Our goal is to continue to bring vegans and non-vegans together, to support local vegan business, and to show just how easy it is to be vegan.”
