Prepare to delve deeper into the rich history of magic with this new series of eBook shorts.
Another year has come and gone and still no letter from Hogwarts, with only J.K Rowling’s twitter feed and fantasising about trips to Harry Potter World to get us through the years of disappointment, we’re in need of a fix from the wizarding world.
Thankfully, J.K Rowling announced she will be releasing four new Harry Potter ebooks next month, and although they won’t follow the adventures of our favourite witch and wizards, they still sound pretty magical!
According to Pottermore, the series will be inspired by the British Library exhibition and its companion books, Harry Potter: A History of Magic and will feature four bitesize reads, each themed around Hogwarts lessons.
The stories will take readers back in time once again to learn about the traditional folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories, accompanied by some new, gorgeous line drawings from London-based artist Rohan Daniel Eason.
The shorts have been adapted from the audiobook and will give readers a chance to absorb the colourful characters and curious incidents of the real history of magic in a more compact form – perfect for the train or whatever Muggle transport you prefer.
In addition to exploring the origins of magic through history and folklore, the eBook shorts will also feature notes, manuscript pages and charming sketches as previously seen in Harry Potter: A History of Magic.
The titles will include: Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy, and Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures, which will be published in the coming months.
The first pair, themed on Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Potions and Herbology, will be published on June 27 and priced at £1.99 each.
