If this summer’s flight chaos has put you off air travel for a little bit, it need not thwart any big Oktoberfest plans come autumn; the party is coming to us! Taking the iconic Oktoberfest and giving it a proper Manc twist, Manctoberfest is back in town for a weekend this October, and it’s set to be beer-tastic.
Taking place at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre between September 30–October 2, the lively event will combine the Bavarian-themed extravaganza with some of the best indie and rock music hailing from Manchester. Revellers will get to experience a slice of Munich without the need for a passport: there’ll be music, beer, food and dancing all under one roof without even leaving the city.
The entertainment line-up will include a top-class string of acclaimed tribute bands, who’ll be performing hits by Oasis, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, New Order, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. You can choose from various time slots on the weekend; Friday and Saturday’s knees up is set to run all night long, staying open until 2am.
If that wasn’t all, beer lovers will get to guzzle on a whole host of authentic German lagers served in traditional steins (but of course!), with a number of food vendors in tow serving Bavarian dishes such as bratwurst, pretzels and more.
It’s time to dust off your Lederhosen and assemble your strongest drinking squad in anticipation, as tickets to Manctoberfest are likely to sell fast. Tickets start at £15 per person, and there are options for both sitting and standing. Get your hands on them here
