A study by Tambia Coffee has revealed the top 10 cities in the UK that house the most beautiful coffee shops, and Manchester ranked fifth! The company analysed Instagram data to find the cities that are sure to get the like-count surging on Instagram, along with questions about where it was that people most often sit sipping.
To find the most beautiful cities for coffee content on social media, Tambia gathered data on the number of posts under the hashtag #citycoffee on Instagram for 90 UK cities, with all data being correct as of February 2023.
With over 15,000 posts dedicated to our creative coffee scene, Manchester has plenty to offer fanatics looking for their next brew. The artsy vibe going on in Manchester has made many of our city’s coffee shops a destination in themselves, being so beautiful and quirky. Tambia recommends checking out hot spots such as Fig + Sparrow in the buzzy Northern Quarter, so your Instagram snaps can look like art themselves.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, London topped the list with a massive 207,144 uses of the hashtag, followed by Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle, and, of course, our beloved Manchester.
It’s great to see Manchester climbing the ranks compared to other UK cities, as our cafe culture is really bustling, especially in Ancoats and the Northern Quarter, with new coffee and cake spots popping up regularly around the city. We’re so proud of our independent establishments and with more and more spilling out onto the pavements, it feels as though we’re headed for European domination.
Whether your favourite is an Ancoats haunt such as Trove or Just Between Friends, an NQ nook like Foundation Coffee House or Chapter One, or love the newest offerings around the city such as Federal or 92 Degrees, we’re pretty well catered for, with more on the way – and they’re pretty beautiful.
