We love all things Manchester Airport, because let’s face it, the only thing to make a getaway better is the experience before you take off. Now, with Terminal 2 having had a huge makeover, adding a street food hall, the airport’s first Wetherspoons and a variety of shops, Manchester Airport’s Amber Alehouse has also had a glow up – and it’s now distinctly Manc.

In a social media post, Manchester Airport said: “Amber Alehouse has had an extension! A concept shift rooted in nostalgia, paying homage to Manchester’s iconic music scene and the legendary Hacienda. Expect vinyl on deck, graphics inspired by the era, and a DJ setting the tone, with live sets dropping in from time to time.
“The menu leans into comfort food and timeless classics, meaning you can enjoy one last taste of Manchester before you jet off on your travels.”
What’s new at Amber Alehouse?
The Amber Alehouse extension will offer a fresh take on the existing venue, featuring a striking glass ceiling with views over the Boutique Mall. Inspired by Manchester’s iconic music scene, the Haçienda-style space will serve craft ales from Seven Bro7hers, introduce an additional 100 seats, and bring a lively atmosphere with occasional live DJ sets.

Although it isn’t a brand new bar, it’s an extension to the existing Amber Alehouse bar that opened in Terminal 2 in 2021. Run in partnership with Salford-based brewery Seven Bro7hers, the aim of the new-look Amber Alehouse is to pay homage to Manchester, allowing locals and visitors alike to feel that sense of history and heritage before jetting off.
