Tonight (September 24), the sun will set in the city at 7pm – and it will be the last sunset on or after 7pm in Manchester until March 2025! According to Time and Date, the sun will bid farewell at 7.01pm, making it the last of the year. September 25 will enjoy a measly 6.59pm sunset, fittingly during the first few days of Autumn.
Of course, days won’t be quite as short as they will be after the clocks go back in October, but they will get darker much faster. But when will the next 7pm sunset in Manchester be? Well, I’d advise looking away from the screen now. You’ll have to wait until March 30, 2025, so be sure to make use of these last few days of sweet, sweet late sunsets. The last 6pm sunset of year will take place on October 20, 2024.
Despite the shortening days, Manchester is predicted to see some temperatures around the 15-degree mark, so we can’t say we’re too mad, although a flood warning is in force across England. Although it might be the last 7pm sunset in Manchester, Autumn has officially arrived, meaning we can get those awesome photos among the leaves very soon and sip on hot chocolates in a cosy café. Summer ’24, we barely knew you!
