A Greater Manchester food hall has been shortlisted for ‘Best Food Hall’ at the British Street Food Awards 2026. The news comes as the food hall based in Salford, Kargo MKT, prepares to celebrate three years in the city this September.
Situated at Quayside, Kargo MKT, brings together 19 independent kitchens under one roof, serving up diverse global flavours and authentic cuisine. A standout destination in Manchester’s food scene since launching in 2023, this vibrant food hall supports local culinary talent while providing a welcoming hub to eat, drink, and connect.

The live final of British Street Food Awards 2026 will take place at Peddler Market in Sheffield on September 4-6. The final will see the very best traders in Britain cooking their hearts out to win the British title and a place in the grand finale of the 2026 European Street Food Awards in Saarbrucken.
Previous years saw Cambridge Street Collective claim the title in 2024 and 2025 following its opening in Sheffield. Like Kargo MKT, Cambridge Street Collective is also part of the Blend Family, an independent hospitality business who create and operate food halls across the UK.
The company’s portfolio also includes Cutlery Works in Sheffield, Tower Bridge Collective in London and the newly opened Alfred Works in Birmingham, which have all been shortlisted for the ‘Best Food Hall’ award.

“Kargo MKT being up for nomination so close to their third anniversary is such an honour”
Nina, COO of Blend Family, said: “Having multiple of our food halls selected this year is a huge moment for the team. Kargo MKT being up for nomination so close to their third anniversary is such an honour from the team and reflects the commitment they have shown to Manchester since we opened in 2023.”
“Being a finalist reinforces that Blend Family’s food halls are destinations that bring people together, while making a positive contribution to the neighbourhoods we serve.”
