Blue Monday – aside from being an iconic New Order tune – is a pretty negative time of the year, whether you subscribe to it or not. But lucky for all those working from home or on the lookout for a new office space, Manchester’s Junction is turning Blue Monday into a paw-sitive day by hosting a ‘Bring Your Dog to Work‘ event on Monday 20th January.
Recognised as the most depressing day of the year, Blue Monday is being turned on its head as Junction welcomes everyone’s four-legged friends with open arms, to boost morale, reduce stress, and spread smiles. An all-day casual dining destination offering a cafe, bar, restaurant and social workspace, Junction is dog-friendly all year round but on January 20th it will be offering complimentary puppucinos and dog treats made by the chef especially for the occasion.
Dog owners can choose from Junction’s range of menus, including the Breakfast Menu (available from 8am – 12pm), the Lounge Menu (available from 12pm – 8pm), and the new Seasonal Evening Menu (available from 5pm – 8pm).
James Thompson, General Manager at Junction, said: “At Junction, we understand that Blue Monday is normally a day people don’t look forward to, so we wanted to do something positive and enjoyable to change that”.
“Whether you’re coming to Junction to work, to meet friends for a coffee or enjoy a bite to eat, bringing your dogs is a simple way to create smiles, reduce stress, and remind everyone that even on the toughest days, our furry friends can make all the difference.”
As one of the most dog-friendly cities in the UK, you’ll also have plenty of places to visit with your four-legged friend once you’ve finished for the day at Junction, whether you’re after somewhere to eat, drink or meet more furry friends, and you’ll forget all about Blue Monday.
It goes without saying though, just because it’s ‘Blue Monday’, it doesn’t mean you can’t be happy, and dogs are just one piece of joy that may help.
