Get your crumpled 2009 black and white JLS t-shirt out from the bottom of your drawer, because the boys are back on tour! Aston, Marvin, JB and Oritsé will grace Manchester’s AO Arena this 2nd November on their ‘EVERYBODY SAY JLS: The Hits Tour’ with hits including Everybody in Love and Eyes Wide Shut.
In an announcement on Twitter the band said: “We couldn’t be more excited to announce another UK and Ireland arena tour later this year […] Last time out was totally surreal and we’ve been eagerly awaiting the right time to do it all over again”.
They followed up by saying: “Playing live and seeing our amazing fans is definitely the BEST part of being JLS, we can’t wait to see you.”
With five top 10 hits, a self-titled number-one debut album, two BRIT Awards, and five MOBO Awards under their belt, the band have been sorely missed since their farewell in 2013. Fan Roopa Vyas commented on the announcement: “I know it’s a Hits tour but please tell me we’ll hear 2.0”, with Courtney Murphy echoing: “Finally. so buzzing to be able to come see you boys again.”
Incase anyone’s forgotten, the boy band gained success on the X Factor, finishing runners-up. Their debut single Beat Again then rocketed to number one in the UK Top 40 charts in 2009, and the rest is history.
Since their disbanding in 2013, JLS members have forged their own separate careers. Marvin has had success in presenting, often alongside ex Saturday’s band member wife Rochelle Hulmes; Aston has pursued his passion for dance, as well as a solo career and an appearance on TV hit The Masked Singer in 2022; JB has taken his beloved farm up a notch with his own TV show, as well as pursing acting; and Oritsé has had his own personal challenges in the limelight, in the midst of his solo career.
We’re looking forward to seeing the boys back together and doing what they do best, and of course hearing all the iconic bangers from back in the day!
