Calling all cheese lovers! Get ready for Edam Gouda all-you-can-eat deal which is coming to Manchester in the form of a mighty bottomless cheese buffet. Forget what your mum said about eating too much cheese gives you nightmares and instead gorge on Gorgonzola and fill your boots with Fior di latte this Valentine’s Day.
The Northern Quarter pub off Lever Street, Pie and Ale, is set to host this cheesy event courtesy of Leeds-born cheese tasting company, Homage2Fromage. Founded by friends Nick and Vickie, who joined forces after a random conversation on Twitter in 2011, Homage2Fromage has gone onto take Yorkshire towns and cities like Leeds, Sheffield and Harrogate by storm and beyond the border to good ol’ Manchester and further afield.
Their Manchester event in November sold out rapidly but it is set to host a Valentine’s special take place on Thursday 16th February at 7pm and will see Homage2Fromage Caerphilly select eight sexy, sultry, sensuous cheeses, alongside a selection of freshly-baked bread, crackers, chutneys and ‘all the trimmings’. The cheese will be served on an all-you-can-eat basis for two and a half hours, giving guests the opportunity to indulge upon a mix of cheeses, whether they be crumbly, creamy or peppery.
Pie and Ale will be on hand for the drinks side of things, with a handsome selection of rotating ales and craft beers, as well as a number of canned and bottled beverages. And to pair with this cheese buffet in Manchester is a modest wine list, alongside a choice of cocktails and soft drinks.
Organisers have promised a ‘laid back and informal’ event, adding that there will be some ‘absolute belters’ making an appearance across the evening. Guests will be able to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat buffet for just £20 per person – though it is worth noting that drinks are not included in the ticket price.
With tickets selling faster than it takes to eat cheese, Homage2Fromage had to come back to Pie & Ale on February 16 for a sexy cheese frenzy. The organisers said there will be a range of cheese “some soft and yielding, others big and strong”, as well as melting (cheese not hearts, though!) Nothing says love quite like cheese so don’t miss this brie-lliant event.
