FINALLY, the Harry Potter afternoon tea of our dreams!
An interactive Harry Potter-themed afternoon tea has been going on right around the corner from Manchester since January, and we had no idea!
Dearden Tea Rooms in Rossendale has launched more dates for its Witchcraft and Wizardy afternoon tea this autumn following the success of the event earlier this year.
The event is an interactive experience hosted by the main man Harry Potter and a Hogwarts Professor and includes broomstick training in Cackles Courtyard as well as a witchcraft and wizardry graduation.
The afternoon tea begins with a potion bottle of liquid luck and includes treats such as mini broomsticks, chocolate snitches, chocolate mandrake plants and chocolate frogs. The tea rooms also makes its own butterbeer-inspired Freakshakes which can be purchased alongside the afternoon tea.
Tea room co-owner Andrea Britland said:
“We’re amazed by the demand for the event. The new dates have been really popular and most of the Sundays have already sold out so we’ve added more dates on the Saturdays.
“The interactive afternoon tea takes place in our function room, which is decorated to look like the great hall. We market it as a family event, but it’s something that goes down well with people of all ages. Just the other week we had one session that was all adults.
“We welcome people from Manchester and it’s always great when they get in touch. Visitors are always delighted when they see the tea rooms because we are based in a Victorian building so it’s a bit quirkier than you might see in the city.”
The event is priced at £25 per person for adults and £17 for children. Fancy dress is optional but encouraged, for more information visit the Dearden Tea Rooms’ Facebook page
