Earlier this year, Fool Me Once came to Netflix and completely grasped the attention of the British public. Now, the next big Netflix hitter from Harlan Coben is on the way, and the first images of Missing You have been revealed.
Eleven years ago Detective Kat Donovan’s fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared and she’s never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.
Ashley Walters (Top Boy, Bulletproof) has been cast in Missing You as one of the main characters Josh Buchanan, long-time Harlan Coben collaborator James Nesbitt (Stay Close, Bloodlands) will take on the role of Calligan, and Matt Jay-Willis (Wolves of War, Love is Blind) of Busted fame will play Darryl.
These names join an incredible cast including Rosalind Eleazar, Jessica Plummer, Richard Armitage, Ashley Walters, Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Samantha Spiro, Lisa Faulkner and Mary Malone in Missing You, so it’s shaping up to be a heck of a production.
Filming has wrapped around Manchester and the North West of England, including Bolton, in collaboration with Quay Street Productions in Manchester, as was used on previous productions. In keeping with previous Harlan Coben adaptations, Missing You will relocate the story from the US to the UK.
Missing You will come in five episodes of 60 minutes, and will be the ninth on-screen adaptation from bestselling author Harlan Coben through his on-going creative partnership with Netflix. Following the success of Fool Me Once, and previous Harlan Coben Netflix collaborations including Stay Close and The Stranger, Missing You is set to be a thrilling watch. Missing You is set to be released in 2025.
