Manchester’s newest hot spot is set to get even bigger…
Following the successful opening of Platform 15 back in July, Escape to Freight Island is set to get even bigger with the official launch of The Ticket Hall, which will be located underneath the original striking roof structure of Depot Mayfield.
Joining the current space which offers live music, food and drink, The Ticket Hall will double the site’s capacity – as well as provide an undercover, heated and waterproof area for the colder months.
And with it comes a whole host of brand new vendors who’ll be joining the likes of the already successful Voodoo Rays and Patty Queen’s. Taking up residence at the indoor market-style space will be the much-loved Sugo Pasta Kitchen (who already have two sites across Ancoats and Altrincham), Mi & Pho, Plant Grill and The Jane Eyre, among others, with two taprooms – Camden Town and Pomona, providing the tasty brews.
If that wasn’t exciting enough already, however, independent wine shop Forever Changes will be on hand to provide the vino and there’ll even be the city’s first bike cloakroom – where Mancs can safely park their bikes while enjoying Escape to Freight Island.
Luke Cowdrey, co-creator said: “When we launched Platform 15 at Escape to Freight Island this summer, we created one of the most forward-thinking venues of its time, in this country. It’s a place of positivity; somewhere that people can safely meet with their family and friends and experience some of the most beautifully crafted food and drink with world-class entertainment. The Ticket Hall is the next phase in our long and interesting journey developing Escape to Freight Island.”
The new extension is set to open its doors on October 30th, just in time for the festive season, and will offer Mancs a new, urban marketplace to explore for food, drinks, socialising and live entertainment.
Escape to Freight Island’s outdoor Platform 15 is open now and can be found at Baring St, M1 2PZ.
