Manchester City Council may have cancelled the city’s annual Bonfire Night staples, but thankfully for us Mancs, Escape to Freight Island and Mayfield Park, are here to save the day. Hosting an epic fireworks display the day before Guy Fawkes Night on Friday 4th November, Escape to Freight Island and Manchester’s first new park in 100 years, Mayfield Park, will be starting the festive season with a literal bang.
The venues are set to light up the sky with an incredible fireworks display that will surely fill the giant void left behind by Heaton Park’s beloved (and very, very cancelled) display. The Bonfire Night event will be hosted across two sessions, from 5.30pm until 7.30pm with fireworks display at 7pm; followed by a later session from 8pm until late, with another fireworks display at 9pm. The fireworks displays at 7pm and 9pm will be available to view for visitors at both Escape to Freight Island and Mayfield Park.
In true Escape to Freight Island style, Bonfire Night will be accompanied with remarkable entertainment, from DJs all night long and walkabout performers throughout the evening. Tickets for the Escape to Freight Island sessions include complimentary sparklers, live indoor and outdoor entertainment, plus Fast Track Entry into the park via a secure gated entrance – allowing guests to go back and forth between the venue and the park seamlessly.
Tickets for Mayfield Park only are also available via the main park entrance and will not include access to Escape to Freight Island. Tickets for Escape to Freight Island (includes access to Mayfield Park) are priced at £8 for adults and £2 for children.
Tickets for Mayfield Park (does not include access to Escape to Freight Island) are priced at £5 for adults and £2 for children. For the 5.30pm session, children under 2s and adults over 60s are free. Limited allocation available.
