With ice cold temperatures and the dullness that this winter month can be bring, it leads some of us to look ahead and plan a cheap escape. Here to add a new destination to your holiday wish list is easyJet, who has announced a new route from Manchester to Paris Orly Airport with tickets available to the City of Light for a reasonable price.
The airline is offering seats to the French city via their website and mobile app from £22.99 per person one way from today (January 18), perfect for those searching for a city break on a budget. The new easyJet route from Manchester to Paris Orly will take off from March 27 with departures up to five times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
With an already existing route from Manchester to popular Paris airport Charles de Gaulle, the new route provides another connection between the North-West and the French capital, with Paris Orly Airport being a convenient option closer to the south of the city. Visitors can get to the centre of Paris in approximately 30 minutes from this airport via train or OrlyBus, get links to Charles de Gaulle or continue their journey to other French destinations.
From May 2023, an additional Airbus A320neo aircraft will be based in Manchester and will operate throughout the summer season. The NEO brings significant improvements in terms of environmental and operational efficiencies: up to 15% less fuel consumption and therefore less CO2 emissions, and 50% less noise during take-off and landing.
Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director at Manchester Airport, said: “We are thrilled that easyJet will be launching a service to Paris Orly airport, which is currently unserved from Manchester, adding another destination to our growing route network. The commitment to this five-times-weekly service underscores easyJet’s growth and investment in its Manchester base, which is great news for passengers who will benefit from a wider range of options when booking their next trip.”
