The Christmas holidays will be here before we know it, and as we all know, Christmas – especially Christmas with kids – takes some preparation. If you’re looking for things to do with kids this Christmas season, we bring news of a new interactive world nice and early. Opening its doors in Regent Retail Park this December, Dreamland Imaginarium is home to a plethora of multi-sensory activities, inspired by children’s dreams.
Designed for children aged 1–7 years old, Dreamland Imaginarium brings together giant inflatable creatures, interactive games and many surprises all in one space. As your little ones roam the four different zones, they’ll come across (friendly) monsters, birds, fish and flora, and have an abundance of space to run, bounce, crawl and daydream. The different textures, sights, sounds and scents will encourage development in younger visitors, while still being fun for the older ones.
So, what can you expect at Dreamland Imaginarium?
Dreamland Imaginarium has four zones: Dreams of Flight, Underwater Enchantment, Monster’s Midway, and Fantastical Flora. In Dreams Of Flight, high above the clouds, soaring birds pulse with sound and colour; your child will be able to jump and ‘fly’ with the birds in a game that uses technology and motion sensors to trigger a surprise. As your little one bounds across the bouncy cloud floor, you’ll both feel as though you’re on Cloud Nine. From sky to water, Underwater Enchantment will transport you to an aquarium-like world under the watchful eye of Olly, the giant octopus. As kids play within the ball pit, filled with shimmering ‘pearls’, they can test their colour and number skills with an interactive game.
Looking for somewhere to expel some excess energy? Monster’s Midway is the place to be. Get your groove on upon the neon dance floor, watch your child slide down monster bounce park slide, or get competitive with games designed to support the development of fine motor skills. Last but certainly not least – especially as it is the welcome lounge and central point between all the other rooms – there’s Fantastical Flora, filled with lush greenery, flowers, the cafe and the gift shop. Kick back and enjoy a refreshment from the cafe, watch over your toddler in the inflatable play space, or follow the scavenger hunt with slightly older ones. There’s plenty of other interactive games and surprises too. If you’d like to return child free after dark, the cafe will offer special cocktails for the grown ups on select evenings.
Dreamland Imaginarium is a pretty enchanting place, whether you’re 4 or 34. For the parents/aunts/uncles, there are plenty of opportunities to create memories with the whole family. We recommend an hour to experience all that Dreamland Imaginarium has to offer.
