Joining Manchester’s already impressive roster of kebab restaurants, the Arndale is set to be blessed with brand new arrival Doner Shack in Halle Place – and we can’t wait to get a pitta this.
The brainchild of the team behind the Corn Exchange’s successful Döner Haus, the new casual lunch spot will serve up an array of classic doners – alongside currywurst, schnitzel, halloumi and falafel. Joining fellow Halle Place residents Archie’s, Wolf and PizzaLuxe (who serve a tasty breakfast pizza!), the owners are expecting the new doner spot to be a hit – signing up for a 15 year lease for the location.
Served in sofa ‘pidas’ – which act similarly to pitta bread but are much thicker – each kebab is made with high-quality turkey and beef, resulting in a leaner, healthier kebab with all the same familiar flavours of your traditional weekend doner.
The ‘babs come with a variety of toppings, too, including cheese, hot sauce, salad and more. Elsewhere on the menu, guests can enjoy Tellers (fries topped with meat), premium German Currywurst, tasty doner salads, and even halloumi fries.
Scott Linard, portfolio director at M&G Real Estate, said: “Halle Place is establishing itself as one of Manchester’s most popular casual dining destinations.
“Archie’s, Barburitto and Wolf Street Food already offer something unique, which is clearly attractive to our customers.
“The arrival of Doner Shack and Pizza Luxe will only add to the distinctive appeal of Halle Place to visitors. Gloria Jean’s is renowned for its high-quality coffee and beverages. It is a perfect destination for our customers to relax.
“Being able to welcome a trio of new food and beverage operators is a testament to Manchester Arndale’s position as one of the leading shopping centres in the UK.
“The centre has remained robust and resilient during 2020 and we are confident we will continue to add to our strong F&B offering throughout 2021 and beyond.”
Sanjeev Sanghera, co-founder and managing director of Doner Shack, added: “Coming from humble beginnings, we are evolving into a multi-site business with big plans for the future. We feel incredibly excited to be opening in Manchester Arndale.
“We want our lean high-quality kebabs to be a part of everyday life. Whether that’s a snack on the go during a busy lunch break or a fun evening with a group of friends. It is time for a new generation of street food, and we are thrilled to be leading the way.”
Further details on the opening are yet to be announced, however, stay tuned right here for updates.
