What is Day Fever?
A cheeky spin on the Bee Gees’ classic Night Fever, this viral sensation flips the traditional nightclub model on its head by partying while the sun is still out. Running from 3pm to 8pm, Day Fever guarantees you can hit the dancefloor hard and still be tucked into bed at a completely reasonable hour.
Following massive sell-out success in Sheffield, Glasgow, and London, the afternoon extravaganza is making a triumphant return to Manchester’s New Century. You can catch the daytime magic on Saturday 27 June, with a flawless party playlist hand-picked by Jon McClure (Reverend and the Makers), Line of Duty star Vicky McClure, and her partner, filmmaker Jonny Owen.
“Manchester had to be on our list for Day Fever, it just had to be!” says Vicky McClure. “It’s a city we all know and love and we can’t wait to bring our disco to such an amazing venue. So get your glad rags on and come and join us for a proper party.”
The house rules
Before you dust off your dancing shoes, keep in mind that Day Fever caters exclusively to the over-30s crowd. (Don’t forget your ID—enjoy the flattery if you actually get asked for it!).
To keep the vibes immaculate, the organisers have laid out a few simple rules:
- No heavy petting: Keep it PG on the dancefloor (unless it’s the slow-dance section).
- No roughhousing: Pushing, running, and “bombing” are strictly prohibited.
- Keep your feet on the ground: Leave the gymnastics and acrobatics at home, though vigorous, unchoreographed dancing is highly encouraged!
