It’s set to make up part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.
As we near closer to the Manchester Food and Drink Festival’s grand return this month, the organisers are dropping huge bombshells to get Mancs excited – and let me just say, it’s working. Joining MFDF’s impressive roster of events – which also includes the Wine and Fizz Festival and a tasty Curry Club – The Festival Chippy Tea takeover is set to bring some of the city’s most loved eateries serving up the classic dish, each bringing their own spin to the table.
Confirming Anchors of Didsbury, The Hip Hop Chip Shop, JJ’s Vish and Chips, Street Urchin, Lord of the Pie and A Few Scoops for the evening takeover – which will take place for one night only on September 22nd – guests can expect pimped up fish and chips, dishes of the vegan variety, proper Stockport-made pies, and even a proper posh spin on the traditional chippy. Described as a “mammoth chippie tea feast”, it’s set to be the perfect way to pay homage to the classic Northern meal, with plenty of beers, fizz and even alcoholic ice cream on offer, too.
Elsewhere at the festival, organisers have also confirmed a new event in partnership with Albert’s Schloss, aptly titled Schlosstoberfest, as well as a pub grub takeover with Tom Kerridge’s Bull & Bear and a whole host of local traders such as What’s Your Beef Burgers, Aunty JJ’s, Grandad’s Sausages, The Spinn and Great North Pie Co.
