In a city full of speakeasies and bars behind bars, we’re hardly surprised to hear that the best spots in town are usually hidden – be it behind a pawn shop, a barber or a little Greek shop… The latter of which is where you’ll find Bouzouki by Night.
A cosy Greek taverna found on Princess Street, in Manchester’s bustling city centre, Bouzouki comes to life every weekend – bringing a slice of Aegean entertainment to the rainy city. Beloved by locals for over 30 years for its delicious Greek grub, guests can tuck into refreshing meze, gyros, mousaka – you name it – alongside more heartwarming authentic stews, meatballs and koftas.

But it’s the ‘By Night’ element where things get particularly exciting. Getting the party started on Fridays and Saturdays, guests of Bouzouki’s Greek Night are treated to a delicious meze banquet made with fresh ingredients (some of which are shipped over straight from Greece!), alongside live entertainment and dancing – providing the ultimate Greek experience.
After filling up on pita and houmous, halloumi, kofta, chicken skewers, mousaka and so, so much more, guests are invited to get up and join the “big fat Greek good time”, with tons of dancing and singing to get involved in on the DIY dancefloor. It’s a little bit like the fun escapades you’d expect from a Mamma Mia! film, except so much better (given this is in real life).
In addition to their authentic menu, guests can enjoy an array of Greek wines sure to transport you to the Aegean Islands, all served within a traditional Greek space amplified by sea blues, Greek paintings and geraniums at every turn. At Bouzouki by Night it feels like a mini holiday without leaving the city.
