If you’ve ever had a baby in the family, you’ve probably discovered the wonder that is Farley’s Rusks. Often used as both a teether for babies and a great biscuit when beginning to ween onto solid foods, the melt-in-your-mouth biscuits are also a big hit with some grown-ups, too, thanks to their slightly sweet flavour and their tea ‘dipability’ (yeah, we made up a word, so what?).
And now, adult babies can enjoy them in a whole new way – thanks to Middleton-based sweet shop, Betsy’s Sweet Corner.
Launching earlier this year, owner Shona Brookes has invented a delicious Farley’s Rusks milkshake – which customers have been travelling far and wide for just to get a taste. Made from a base of Rusks biscuits and drizzled with chocolate sauce, the delicious milkshakes have proven exceptionally popular, so much so, the sweet shop sold over 50 on their first day on the menu.
In addition to the delectable milkshakes, Betsy’s Sweet Corner is also serving up a moreish Rusks-flavoured cheesecake with white chocolate, too, which customers have equally been going mad for. The sweet treats have been flying off the shelves, with Shona and the team having to work fast to replenish stock – before offering customers the chance to reserve their items before they sell out again.
The sweet shop also offers up a wide selection of traditional sweets, too, and can be found at 270a Oldham Rd, Middleton, M24 2DP.
