A new study has revealed the best and worst-rated Wetherspoons venues in the UK, with one pub in Manchester ranking the highest when it came to reviews. Research conducted by experts at QR Code Generator analysed Wetherspoons’ list of 869 pubs and hotels across the UK to establish which ones are the best rated by the average total percentage of excellent reviews on Google Reviews.
Receiving the best reviews from the public and 60.34% rating it as “excellent”, The Bishop Blaize in Stretford, Manchester was ranked the UK’s number one Wetherspoons. The Bishop Blaize located right next to Manchester United’s Old Trafford topped the list of Wetherspoons as it currently has 1,462 five-star reviews out of its 2,423 Google Reviews. So might not be one for City fans…
According to the Wetherspoons website, it has many facilities including TV screens, Sky Sports, BT Sport, broadcasts live news, Wi-Fi, a licensed outdoor area and step-free access. This Manchester Wetherspoons scored very high on the list compared to its neighbouring pubs, with the next Manchester Wetherspoons pub, The Shay Wake, ranking in 112th place on the list.
The first Bishop Blaize Inn was recorded in the mid 15th century and was named after the patron saint of woolcombers. In 1863, it was demolished and replaced by the Talbot Hotel, however the original name now lives on at the Wetherspoons pub.

In second place for the best rated Wetherspoons is the Royal Victoria Pavilion in Ramsgate, Kent, praised for its beachfront beer garden. This seaside Wetherspoons scored a 58.48% excellent review rating and is located on the beach at Harbour Parade in a grade II listed building designed by architect Stanley Davenport Adshead in 1903.
As for the pub with the lowest excellent ratings, it was The Atrium in Birmingham, with 150 five-star reviews and a rating of 20.19%.
