You can’t possibly go wrong with a sweet treat, and lucky for us, Ben’s Cookies, known worldwide for their fresh-out-the-oven, handcrafted cookies, are set to open their first Northern location at the Trafford Centre in Manchester, this Valentine’s Day (Wednesday 14 February). What better way to say ‘I love you’, than cookies eh?
Baking since 1983 in Oxford’s Covered Market, the approach to baking at Ben’s Cookies hasn’t changed. Bringing 40 years of experience, each batch of dough is still lovingly mixed by hand in their dedicated kitchen just outside of Oxford.
Ben is the son of founder Helge Rubinstein, that’s him in the logo drawn by Helge’s good friend and renowned illustrator Sir Quentin Blake (illustrator and lifelong collaborator of Roald Dahl).
Using chunks, not chips, of delicious Belgian chocolate and the finest ingredients, Ben’s Cookies are individually rolled by hand and then freshly baked on-site in each of their 13 shops in the UK. They also have shops in several markets overseas, including the UAE, Singapore and Japan.
Classic favourites such as the Milk Chocolate Chunk or Double Chocolate Chunk are always a winner, but if you’re feeling a little more adventurous a Caramelised Crunch or White Chocolate & Cranberry cookie will certainly excite the taste buds.
Other cookie flavours worth getting a bite of include Matcha & White Chocolate, Oatmeal & Raisin, Milk Chocolate & Praline and Ginger Ginger. With so many flavours to tempt you, you can pick to suit your mood.
Ben’s Cookies will be opening at the popular Peel Avenue at the Trafford Centre in Manchester on February 14, perfect for grabbing something sweet whilst you’re shopping. The mini Valentine’s tins also make the perfect last minute Valentine’s present, just in case the day of love happened to slip your mind…
