Say bye bye to the bees.
The colony of giant bee sculptures took over the streets of Manchester for an art trail unlike any other. Each of the 101 super-sized Bees was designed by local artists and celebrated the unique buzz of Manchester, from its industrial heritage to its vibrant music scene.
Between July 23 and September 23 thousands of locals and visitors took to the streets of Manchester in the hopes of finding all 230 bees and learning a little more about the city along the way. And it’s not over yet, there’s still time to join the sculptures for one last hurrah before they disappear forever.
Bee lovers can revisit the trail at the Farewell Weekend between October 12 – 14 at the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre, before they are auctioned off to raise money for We Love MCR, a charity dedicated to improving the lives and life chances of Manchester people.
Tickets for the weekend are available here and are priced at £6 for adults, £2.50 for children under 17 or £15 for a family ticket. Under fives go free but will still require a ticket.
