With the Oasis homecoming gigs at Heaton Park finally underway, our thoughts are turning to the practicalities. We’ve looked at how to get there, timings and facilities, but what about what you can take through the gates into the show? Fear not, as we have the definitive list of banned items and what you’re allowed to take into Heaton Park for the Oasis Manchester gigs.
Banned items that are not allowed to be brought into Heaton Park for Oasis:
- Bags bigger than an A4 piece of paper will not be allowed including backpacks
- Chairs of any sort, including stools, shooting sticks
- Illegal substances – the gigs will operate a zero tolerance on drugs/legal highs and entry will be refused for those attempting to enter the event with any
- Medication – ensure you bring a prescription to coincide with any medication if you are bringing this for security to check on arrival
- Glass (of any kind) or cans including spray cans or gas canisters
- Laser equipment or pens
- Fireworks, flares, Chinese lanterns, klaxons, air horns or other similar items capable of making loud noise and any item which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon
- Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller blades, personal motorised vehicles (unless a Mobility scooter – see Access Information)
- Umbrellas or parasols of any kind
- Professional camera equipment and/or drones
- Flags and banners of any kind
- Food and drink, although you may bring your own refillable water bottle – collapsible plastic only, empty.
- Animals (with the exception of assistance dogs), are not permitted at any time.

General FAQs for Oasis at Heaton Park, Manchester:
Can I bring a chair?
No outside chairs/seating is permitted for health and safety reasons.
What seating options do you have if I can’t stand for the entire gig?
There are no seated options to watch the gig (the accessible viewing platform is at full capacity). Please note, this is a fully standing gig, with no outside seating permitted under any circumstances.
What size bag can I bring?
If you do bring a bag (organisers recommend not to, to avoid long queues/security checks), ensure this is no bigger than A4 size.
Can I bring outside food and drink?
No – however you are welcome to bring an empty plastic bottle as there are water refill points on site – it must be collapsible plastic as solid plastic, metal etc containers will not be permitted.
Do you have food vendors?
Yes – there are plenty of vendors for all tastes and dietary requirements.
Will cash be accepted?
No, please note that all vendors are card only.
Where will the welfare tent be situated?
The medical and welfare tent is located at the back of the main arena. Follow onsite signage or ask one of the many on site stewards for directions. A site map is available below.

Does every member in my party have to arrive at the same time? (My friend may come later)
As long as all guests have access to their own tickets you can arrive at your chosen time. You will not be able to leave the concert and re-enter so please make sure you have your ticket. Each ticket has it’s own unique bar code to be scanned on entry.
My circumstances have changed and I can no longer stand for the entire gig, what are my options?
Due to the nature of the site, and the accessible viewing platform being fully sold out, organisers cannot provide any other seated areas. You are welcome to bring a foldable blanket to sit on, however please note the bag policy (no bigger than A4 size), and the terrain will be uncertain due to ever changing weather. No outside seating is permitted to be brought into the park.
Can I bring water?
You are welcome to bring an empty plastic bottle, and there will be water refill points on site. There will also be water cups available from the welfare tent to use at the refill points.
What happens if I need to leave the event early?
Speak to a member of security at the exit gates. Re-entry is not permitted under any circumstances.
