We can’t wait to get our hands on that juicy goodness!
It’s been a long, long, long, long wait… But Almost Famous is finally back. Closing their doors to the public back in March, fans of the American-style burger joint haven’t been able to take a trip to burger heaven for quite some time, but it’s for good reason – as the folks behind the much-loved restaurant have been making some changes behind closed doors.
Taking it back to where it all began, the menu has undergone a huge revamp, stripping back to some of the original concoctions including, of course, the OG Famous.
Speaking of the change, founder Beau Myers said: “Having been cooking burgers at home during lockdown – stripping it back to basics with awesome meat, amazing brioche, melty cheese, creamy smacky sauces, simple builds and the best quality ingredients, cooked perfect and juicy every time, I’ve been remembering what Almost Famous was all about.
“We’re stripping back the menu, taking it OG; a few burgers that we can smash out amazingly. The bigger wow burgers will follow however this stripped back menu will allow us a safer and more efficient operation as well as giving our customers the OG Famous experience.”
The main menu will consist of just three uber-tasty burgers, including the ‘Ultra Famous’ – a reworked version of the OG Famous burger, the Phoenix v2.0 and the Crack Shack. Here’s what’s in ’em:
Ultra Famous: double juicy famous cheeseburger, ‘wonderbutter’ onion, famous sauce, smoky bacon ketchup and pickles
Phoenix V2.0: double cheeseburger, bacon, shoestring onions, frazzled, red chillies, redneck bbq, ‘bacon bacon’ mayo and smoky bacon ketchup
Crack Shack: double cheeseburger, double buttermilk fried chicken, JD maple, smashed tots, bacon rain, awesome sauce, redneck bbq, creamy peppered mayo and pickles
Kicking off the re-opening in Manchester is the Great Northern venue on the 4th July, with the original Northern Quarter spot following a couple of weeks later. Not only will the restaurant be open, however, but customers can also enjoy takeout and Deliveroo, so you can enjoy the good stuff in your very own home if you’re not quite ready to venture out into the world again.
