Travel retailer, On The Beach, has launched a campaign to help families boost their swimming skills.
On The Beach has launched the#AllSwimclusive campaign, which will see leisure centres across Manchester offer complimentary family swim sessions*, that include both safety tips and confidence-boosting games. The travel retailer said the sessions have been designed to cater to both parents and their children and aim to make sure everyone feels comfortable in the water.
The launch comes after a survey of UK parents revealed that nearly a third in Manchester (27 per cent) avoid getting in the pool because they are not confident in their swimming ability. And that, despite lacking in confidence, 60 per cent of parents said they would like to develop their swimming skills.
The survey, which was completed by 3,000 UK parents between May and July 2019, also revealed that 26 per cent of parents in Manchester feel that their child can’t swim confidently. And that 84 per cent believe their child is more confident when they are in the water with them – backing the need for a parental confidence boost.
Andrea Tarpey, Head of Communications and Content at On the Beach said:
“Our AllSwimclusive campaign is designed to offer a fun swimming experience to everyone in the family.
“Whether you’re a beginner or a confident swimmer, our sessions are tailored to best suit individual needs.’
