The Aldi store on Manchester’s Market Street has reopened its doors today (Thursday 27th August), following a store upgrade as part of Aldi‘s Enhanced Project Fresh initiative. The upgraded retail space means Manchester shoppers can now benefit from “a noticeably better experience”.
This upgrade is part of Aldi’s wider investment programme, which includes the rollout of updated CO₂ refrigeration systems across stores. The company estimates that the carbon reduction from the completed programme will be equivalent to the amount used to heat more than 6,500 homes.
What’s new at the Aldi Market Street store?
The store now features a state-of-the-art refrigeration system, expanded chillers, and a new in-store bakery. The supermarket says the new format has been created to make shopping even easier for Manchester customers.
To ease congestion during peak trade, the store has introduced easy-to-browse freezers and an improved queuing system for self-checkouts, helping to further improve the shopping experience. The store also now features an enhanced fresh produce section and a larger food-to-go chiller.
