Free food, you say? With January being the month to count your pennies, we’re more than up for it. Zambrero, the feel good Mexican-inspired hotspot, is set to open its second Manchester city centre site this month – and to celebrate, the team will be giving away 1,000 free burritos on Thursday 16th January.
Following huge success with an existing site in Piccadilly Gardens, which opened in 2023, Zambrero is expanding its quick service Mexican-inspired offering across the city, launching a second site on Cross Street in this month. Located between Manchester’s business district and main shopping areas, Cross Street offers the option to sit in or take away, perfect for lunch on-the-go or a more relaxed sit down meal.
To celebrate the opening of Zambrero Cross Street, burrito-loving Mancs are encouraged to get down from 11am on Thursday 16th January, with the first 1,000 people through the doors guaranteed a free burrito. Those who are lucky enough to grab one of the free burritos at Zambrero Cross Street will be able to ‘build your own‘ by selecting your preferred style of rice, beans, salsa, sauce and protein from slow-cooked Barbacoa Beef, Chipotle Chicken, Pulled Pork or Chilli ‘Zin’ Carne (V).
The first 1,000 customers to Zambrero Cross Street will also receive a free can of SYPS, the uplifting and hydrating flavoured fizzy water brand from Manchester’s own Aitch, available in peach or lemon and lime.
Emily Teh, CEO of Zambrero UK, said: “We’re so excited to be opening the doors of our second Manchester store, right in the heart of the city, giving us a chance to bring more of our Feel Good Mexican dishes to the local community.
“Not only will it give more burrito lovers a chance to enjoy our food, but it also means Manchester locals will be able to further support our mission to help end world hunger through our Plate 4 Plate initiative, as we donate a meal to those in need for every burrito or bowl sold.”
In addition to Zambrero’s hugely popular burritos, menu favourites also include burrito bowls (from £7.40) perfect for a lighter lunch, toasted burritos (from £8.40), tacos (£6.95) and a quesadilla stack (£6.95) – good to know… Originating from Australia, set up by then medical student, Dr Sam Prince, Zambrero now has over 300 sites worldwide, including London, Birmingham and now two in Manchester.
