It’s turned rather chilly of late here in Manchester, and as much as we like to think that spring is on the way, we may be looking at a last minute cold snap before the tulips sprout. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow in the coming days, affecting parts of Greater Manchester and the larger North West.
In a nutshell, the Met Office states: “A period of snow could bring some disruption to parts of Wales, central England and the southern Pennines from Wednesday.”

Met Office forecast
Wednesday 18 February
Most of the region will have a dry, albeit rather cloudy day with a brisk and chilly southeasterly wind blowing. There is just a chance that southernmost parts could see some patchy rain developing later on though. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
It looks cloudy and breezy overnight, with a chance of light rain and perhaps some snow at times in the south. Clearer breaks further north later, allowing frost to form. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
Thursday 19 February
Any rain or snow in the south should peter out in the morning, allowing skies to gradually brighten from the northwest as the day unfolds. Remaining chilly, though winds easing. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
