By Laura Rogan June 12, 2020

The site is currently implementing new safety features.

Following the government’s recent announcement that zoos and wildlife parks could re-open, after originally saying that they couldn’t, Trentham Monkey Forest is the most recent park to officially announce its re-opening date.

Currently on track to re-open on June 25, the popular attraction has revealed that they’re currently working on new measures to keep customers safe, which will include a number of changes for customers throughout the park.

We are opening on the 25th of June, but tickets ARE NOT on sale just yet. So please do not try and buy! Please bear…

Making the site “extra safe” for all visitors, Monkey Forest will begin accepting visitors who have pre-booked tickets via their website, with gate tickets now unavailable to help decrease the need for human contact. Guests will also be given half an hour slots that they’ll need to arrive in time for, allowing the Forest to monitor the number of people enjoying the park at one time.

Monkey Forest Director Matt Lovatt has said: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome visitors back again after being closed since March. Despite the announcement that we could reopen from Monday 15th, we want to make sure everything is set up and the park is extra safe for our visitors. The monkeys and the staff are certainly ready to get back to the ‘new normal’ and with the attraction being nearly all outdoors it’s the perfect place for people to visit.”

Adding: “The safety of our guests, our team and the monkeys is at the forefront of what we do. We’ve always asked our guests to give the free-roaming monkeys a safety distance, now we’re asking them to do the same for each other! We ask that customers help us by reading our new rules before their visit. Hand sanitiser is provided on site, we simply ask visitors to keep to social distancing and visit at their allocated time.

“We feel these steps will ensure Monkey Forest is a safe place to visit. Everyone can enjoy a family day out and be confident they are following government guidance. The staff and monkeys really look forward to seeing our fantastic visitors!”

Trentham Monkey Forest will operate between the hours of 10am and 5pm from June 25th, and tickets go back on sale next week.
