The Trafford Centre is set to welcome back its much-loved Grotto this festive season, which will see a part of the shopping centre transformed into a festive wonderland. The Grotto at The Trafford Centre will take families on a magical adventure to visit Father Christmas, with the aim of bringing plenty of festive cheer.
Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, said: “Christmas is our favourite time of year at Trafford Centre – it’s all about creating unforgettable memories for our guests. The Grotto was a huge success last year, with so many families telling us how magical it felt, so we’re thrilled to welcome it back. Tickets are already in high demand, so book early to ensure your family can experience the wonder of meeting Santa this Christmas.”
When and where will The Grotto take place?
The Grotto will return to its magical home just outside The Great Hall at The Trafford Centre, where the former Frankie & Benny’s used to be, and will run from November 22 – December 24, 2025.

What to expect at The Grotto at The Trafford Centre
This year, families will become part of a magical mission… saving Christmas cheer! The North Pole’s magic runs on Christmas cheer, and this year, something has gone wrong. The Cheer-o-Meter is malfunctioning and dropping fast. Without a high enough cheer reading, Santa’s sleigh won’t fly, and Christmas deliveries will be grounded!
Visitors will start on Gingerbread Lane, where you’ll write your letters to Santa and get briefed for your mission. Then, you’ll head into the Merrymarker Studio to giggle, shout, and complete colourful challenges to power up the Cheer-o-Meter. Finally, in Santa’s Study, you’ll seal your letters, hunt for your special coloured letter and get ready for a magical photo moment before meeting Santa himself. The Grotto aims to be a joyful, interactive adventure where your family helps bring Christmas to life and fills the Cheer-o-Meter to the top!
