There’s no denying that recent months (read: years) have been overwhelming, to say the least, leaving many of us in need of a new escape to distract us from the woes of life. Introducing, The Airport pub in South Manchester.
Perfectly situated right next to one of Manchester Airport’s functioning runways, the pub makes the most of its unique location – and it’s a lovely little spot to wind down after a rough day.
Sitting adjacent to the busy runway, guests can take in the sights of planes taking off from their spacious beer garden. And it definitely provides better views than the bare white wall I’m staring at right now, put it that way.
Melt away your worries while staring into the sky and planning your next getaway, or perch up with your laptop for a much-needed change of scenery. It’s the ideal spot for either, pint in hand, of course.
Inside, the pub features some incredibly well-thought-out decor, with booths emulating the circular turbine engines, metal panelling and industrial-style finishes – with even the light fans hanging above tables replicating a plane’s wings. The dining area also boasts floor-to-ceiling glass windows, providing front-row seats for guests to kick back and watch each plane take off, before soaring high into the clouds.
On the menu, you’ll find traditional pub grub with a little something for everyone, including huge stacked burgers (14 of them, to be precise), pizzas, ribs, fish and chips, and other classics – with plenty on offer for breakfast, too. Wash it all down with something from the fully stocked bar, with beers, wines, gins, cocktails and whatever else you may desire for your little wind-down session.
The Airport pub is open seven days a week from 10am til 10.30pm, and can be found at Ringway Rd, Manchester, M22 5WH. Oh, and did we mention that it’s 20% off fizz from 5pm-7pm on Fridays?
