The wait is over. Taylor Swift will make her long-awaited return to the UK, however, despite announcing four London dates in the summer of 2024 as part of her ‘Eras’ world tour, the singer will not be making a stop in Manchester.
Dropping the bombshell this afternoon, the singer took to social media to break news of her plans to hit the road later this year and throughout 2024. Swift will play London’s Wembley Stadium on June 21 and June 22, as well as heading back two months later for another double-act on August 16 and August 17.
As many have pointed out, there is a handy gap in her tour dates that have fuelled the ever-growing rumours of her playing a certain festival at Worthy Farm in the summer of ’24, but we” have to watch this space on that one.
For die-hard Swifties in Manchester, the nearest location to see the star on her ‘Eras’ world tour is Liverpool, where Taylor Swift will be performing at Anfield Stadium on June 14 and June 15. Before arriving in Europe, she will be gracing Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Sydney, Australia and Singapore with her presence.
It marks her first headline UK shows since 2018, when she played in support of her album Reputation, which dropped all the way back in 2017. These shows will be the first chance for many fans to hear songs from her releases since then, which include Folklore, Evermore, and her latest record, Midnights.
Sabrina Carpenter has been announced as Swift’s opening act for a section of her tour, but this does not include the European dates. Earlier this year, Swift had begun her Eras tour in the US, supported by acts including Phoebe Bridgers and Muna, and acts for the UK leg are expected to be announced in due course.
