A hidden retro-themed venue, Tangerine, is offering locals a striking contrast between a dimly lit, 1970s-inspired interior and a bright, expansive outdoor terrace. Tucked away among surrounding mid-rise buildings, the beer garden at Tangerine provides a distinct setting for drinks and dining, featuring both stylised indoor lounging and a heavily planted deck.
1970s aesthetic
The interior of Tangerine heavily leans into a nostalgic, vibrant design. Visitors step into a space defined by bold red ambient lighting and walls covered in a black and orange checkerboard tile pattern. The ceiling features mirrored panels that reflect the warm light across the room.
Seating includes plush, vintage-style armchairs and sofas arranged for groups, alongside a prominent long communal table constructed with illuminated, grid-like glass bricks. A glowing red neon sign displaying the venue’s name in cursive sits above curved wooden panelling, completing the immersive retro styling.
The Tangerine beer garden is an urban oasis
But behind a small, red-lit corridor featuring a classic fire exit sign, guests can head out to a large wooden deck and find Tangerine’s beer garden. The outdoor space is divided into different seating zones, offering a sharp contrast to the dark interior.
One area features bright orange picnic tables with attached benches alongside vivid red cafe chairs. Another section provides a more traditional setup with wooden slatted tables and matching chairs, set under the shade of mature trees and large potted plants. An Airstream-style silver trailer sits on the terrace, while modern office buildings loom in the background, framing the open-air space.
