Many people have clothes in their wardrobes that they aren’t wearing, so instead of throwing them away, how about swapping them for dreamy garms of a similar value? A fantastic Swap Shop is arriving at Selfridges here in Manchester to circulate them, prolonging their life and making sure you get something out of it too!
Fashion lovers can pop into Selfridges Manchester Trafford and swap once-loved items for new obsessions this June 1st – 4th – just go up to womenswear on the upper level, and get swapping!
The Swap Shop works like this:
Step One: Swap your once-loved clothing items worth a resale value of £50 but no more than £300.
Step Two: Our dedicated team members will value your items in exchange for stamps.
Step Three: Browse the shop for pre-loved clothing, pick up your favourite piece and use your stamps to check out.
Step Four: Enjoy your new obsession.
The Swap Shop is just one of the many options we have here in Manchester to shop sustainably and keep clothes circulating, as we have so many amazing vintage shops, charity shops and even antiques, with homewares and valuables getting in on the action.
The Selfridges Swap Shop event is a one-off in collaboration with LOANHOOD, a business with the aim of making sustainable consumption happen by organising pop-up events in retail spaces. Hopefully, the inevitable success of the event will stand Swap Shop in good stead for a permanent fixture and perhaps more in the city centre.
LOANHOOD has events going on up and down the country on a regular basis, and will also be bringing the Swap Shop to Manchester city centre at Exchange Square Selfridges the following week from June 8, so look out for more details on the website!
