Much-loved Manchester pasta restaurant SUD has announced that it will officially close at the end of this month, with the final service to be held on December 31 at all four of its locations. The first restaurant initially opened in Altrincham in 2015 under the name of Sugo Pasta Kitchen, and there are now four branches in Greater Manchester.
Drawing from their deep-rooted Southern Italian heritage and the team’s bold creativity, SUD has aimed to put its heart and soul onto each and every plate that they serve. Boasting four pasta spots in Ancoats, Altrincham, Sale and most-recently a kitchen residency in city centre food hall Exhibition, all of the SUD locations will close at the end of December.
The Greater Manchester pasta restaurants are currently serving a final menu which is a tribute to the cult dishes customers have loved over the last eight years. The menu features classics such as Trofie with Broccolini, Orecchiette House Sugo, ‘Nduja Wings and Arancino.
However, all is not lost as the team behind the Manchester-born pasta-kitchen have already confirmed a new restaurant is in the works, with more details to be shared soon…
The founders commented: “When we started in 2015 as Sugo Pasta Kitchen, we could sell you an epic plate of pasta for £9-13. We’ve been driven by market conditions, and have tried and mulled over a few iterations of SUD, but we don’t feel they’re the best way we can serve our loyal and valued customers and so we have made the decision to close.
“We’ll be keeping our current team and reopening our new pasta kitchen in all four of our locations, we look forward to sharing our next chapter.”
The final service at SUD will take place on 31st December 2023, and you can book a table here.
