Say olé to tacos and tequila!
Bringing a little bit of that Mexican sunshine to Manchester, Simon Wood is launching a taco and tequila terrace outside their First Street premises – and it’s set to open on April 12th.
Allowing guests to enjoy the restaurant while inside the venue remains closed, the brand new summer terrace will take over the exterior for one month only, with a signature Taco range on the menu to enjoy.
A more casual offering for the acclaimed fine dining restaurant, the taco menu will feature options such as pulled chicken, Aleppo cod and charcoal-smoked oyster – with a number of deliciously flavoured margaritas to wash it all down with. If that wasn’t all, the venue is also offering a free taco with your first beer or margarita, so you can really fill your boots this spring.
The taco terrace will open from April 12th to May 9th, when WOOD will hopefully return in line with the government’s lockdown easing plan. Tacos will also be available to take away from the WOOD Shack, which was created during the first lockdown for Mancs to enjoy takeaway beers from.
Simon Wood made headlines earlier this year when he launched a new website that showcased how families could make tasty dishes for the family on just a £30 weekly budget. The initiative was adopted by local food banks, which handed out the recipes to help those in need during the pandemic.
The taco terrace will be operated on a walk-in basis only, so bookings are not required to visit.
