Manchester’s iconic nightclub Sankeys has revealed plans for its seasonal closing party, marking the end of a successful reopening run that has reignited the city’s underground music scene.
Sankey’s final event of the season
The Sidney Street venue will host its final event of the season on Saturday June 27, offering club-goers one last chance to experience its signature sound before the doors temporarily close for summer.
The night is expected to be a fitting send-off following months of packed dancefloors and renewed energy since the club’s return earlier this year.
Known for championing cutting-edge underground music, Sankeys has quickly re-established itself as a key player in Manchester’s nightlife landscape. Its revival has drawn strong support from loyal fans and a new generation of clubbers alike.
Reflecting on the club’s comeback, Wilf Gregory, Club Partner at Sankeys, said: “We have truly been blown away by the love and support in our first season of reopening and it’s been an honour to bring back such a well loved brand as Sankeys to Manchester.
That being said, we will be taking a break this summer to fine tune the venue and sound ready for our winter season.”
The temporary closure will allow the team to refine the venue and enhance its sound system, ensuring an even stronger offering when the club returns later in the year.
Sankeys return date confirmed for September

Sankeys is set to reopen on Saturday 26 September, kicking off a fresh programme of events that promise to stay true to its underground roots while embracing a contemporary edge. The relaunch is expected to bring a carefully curated lineup, with music remaining firmly at the heart of the experience.
In the meantime, the venue still has a series of standout events lined up before the summer break, including the return of its legendary Redlight party on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 24, a date likely to draw significant crowds.
With its closing party on the horizon and a short hiatus ahead, Sankeys is encouraging fans to make the most of the remaining dates. For Manchester’s nightlife scene, it’s a chance to celebrate the return of a clubbing institution before it resets for its next chapter in autumn.
