Opening in the city around nine years ago, the Manchester-born pizzeria, Rudy’s, is set to secure its reign over the Greater Manchester region with another restaurant coming soon. Following on from the news that the brand has set it sights on opening a spot in Prestwich, Rudy’s is also expected to open a brand new pizzeria in Altrincham.
The pizzeria brand that has not only taken Greater Manchester by storm but also nationwide received the green light by Trafford Council back in March to open a venue in Altrincham. The pizza company plan to convert Charis House on Central Way, which has been unused since food and drink hub One Central ended operations last year, with the restaurant opening this July.
The works being carried out before opening include a new frontage, the installation of ground floor side and rear walls, the erection of single storey side/rear extension and the repositioning of the external stairwell. The finished restaurant would comprise of a ground floor dining area to the front and a first floor dining area to the rear, including a mezzanine level.
Serving the perfect and classic Neapolitan pizza since 2015 from its original Rudy’s in Ancoats, the much-loved pizzeria has since opened more sites across Greater Manchester, including one in the Trafford area of Sale, and cities such as Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Nottingham and Sheffield. Once open, the new restaurant in Altrincham would be the seventh Rudy’s in Greater Manchester, following on from their Portland Street site opening last year, and its 27th site in the country.
Born out of passion for pizza, Rudy’s follows the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza making, serving classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza. Rudy’s dough is made fresh daily using Caputo ‘00’ flour which ferments for at least 24 hours, alongside the best quality ingredients imported from Naples, including San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields next to Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella. All accordance to a truly authentic Neapolitan technique, the dough is cooked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for just 60 seconds – resulting in a soft and light pizza with an airy and raised cornicione (the edge or rim of the pizza).
Commenting on the new opening, Neal Bates of Rudy’s, said: “We’re really excited about bringing Rudy’s authentic Neapolitan pizza to Altrincham, joining the community and getting to know our neighbours in this bustling suburb. We can’t wait to launch our newest site in Greater Manchester and welcome both residents and visitors to enjoy a slice of Naples right here in Altrincham.”
The pizzeria is owned by Mission Mars – the company behind other successful restaurants in Manchester such as Trof and Albert’s Schloss. Find out more the Altrincham pizzeria here.
