Opening in the city around nine years ago, the Manchester-born pizzeria, Rudy’s, is set to secure its reign over the Greater Manchester region with another restaurant coming soon. Following on from the news that the brand has set it sights on opening a spot in Prestwich, Rudy’s is also expected to open a brand new pizzeria in Altrincham.
The pizzeria brand that has not only taken Greater Manchester by storm but also nationwide received the green light by Trafford Council last week to open a venue in Altrincham. The planning application sees the pizza company converting Charis House on Central Way, which has been unused since food and drink hub One Central ended operations last year.
The works set to be carried out before opening include a new frontage, the installation of ground floor side and rear walls, the erection of single storey side/rear extension and the repositioning of the external stairwell. The finished restaurant would comprise of a ground floor dining area to the front and a first floor dining area to the rear, including a mezzanine level.
Serving the perfect and classic Neapolitan pizza since 2015 from its original Rudy’s in Ancoats, the much-loved pizzeria has since opened more sites across Greater Manchester, including one in the Trafford area of Sale, and cities such as Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Nottingham and Sheffield. Once open, the new restaurant in Altrincham would be the eighth Rudy’s in Greater Manchester, following on from their Portland Street site opening last year and possible opening in Prestwich.
Born out of passion for pizza, Rudy’s follows the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza making, serving classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza. Rudy’s dough is made fresh daily using Caputo ‘00’ flour which ferments for at least 24 hours, alongside the best quality ingredients imported from Naples, including San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields next to Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella. All accordance to a truly authentic Neapolitan technique, the dough is cooked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for just 60 seconds – resulting in a soft and light pizza with an airy and raised cornicione (the edge or rim of the pizza).
The pizzeria is owned by Mission Mars – the company behind other successful restaurants in Manchester such as Trof and Albert’s Schloss. An opening date for Rudy’s pizzeria in Altrincham is yet to be announced but keep your eyes peeled for more updates.
Rudy’s Altrincham will soon be found at Charis House, 1 Central Way, Altrincham, WA14 1SB.
