The hugely popular Popeyes UK has announced it will be bringing its New Orleans-style fried chicken to a new location in Greater Manchester this May. Heading to Trafford Retail Park in Urmston, the launch marks the brand’s 15th UK opening of the year and the eighth Popeyes restaurant across Greater Manchester.
With dine-in and speedy takeaway options available, fried chicken fans in Urmston will soon be able to enjoy Popeyes favourites like the iconic Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, Signature Wraps, and the Saucin’ Boneless & Hot Wings range, as well as Hand Spun Shakes. All Popeyes chicken is marinated for 12 hours in its signature blend of bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered to deliver that world-famous ‘Shatter-Crunch’.
The Trafford Retail Park restaurant is set to include 76 seats inside, self-service kiosks, collection points, and 2 Park and Serve spots for orders made online via the Popeyes UK website or official app.
Opening day at Popeyes Trafford Retail Park
Popeyes is set to open at Trafford Retail Park on Friday 8th May 2026 at 11am, with queues to be expected. Last month, fans lined up from 4am for the brand’s opening on Wilmslow Road.
On opening day, the first three customers in line on foot and the first two cars in the Popeyes Park & Serve bays win the ultimate prize: free Deluxe Chicken Sandwiches for an entire year. Plus, the first 50 customers in the queue will be treated to exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise, and the first 100 will bag a free Deluxe Chicken Sandwich.
New Honey BBQ range to join the Popeyes menu
Building on its core menu, Popeyes UK is bringing the taste of New Orleans sunshine to Britain with the launch of its brand-new Honey BBQ range – a limited-time menu packed with sweet, smoky flavour. Leading the lineup is the Honey BBQ Sandwich featuring chicken breast coated in Popeyes’ signature shatter crunch and fully drenched in sweet and smoky Honey BBQ sauce. It’s layered with pepper jack cheese, smoky crispy onions and pickled jalapenos, finished with a drizzle of Ranch and served in a soft brioche bun.
Plus, there’s a new Honey BBQ Box Meal that includes the Honey BBQ Sandwich plus a choice of two Tenders, three Hot Wings or four Boneless, served with regular fries and a drink. For a lighter snack, there’s the Honey BBQ wrap, which consists of two Chicken Tenders drizzled with tangy, smoky Honey BBQ sauce, topped with lettuce and tomato, wrapped in a soft, toasted tortilla.

By the end of 2026, the Greater Manchester region will be home to nine Popeyes locations, creating over 500 jobs.
