A new space combining a record store, coffee shop, and wine bar has opened in the Northern Quarter. Started by two friends, Onsite Records is designed as a hybrid hangout for music lovers, featuring dedicated listening stations where visitors can test records on turntables before deciding to buy them.
The shop stocks a wide variety of vinyl across multiple genres, including dedicated sections for drum and bass, dubstep, downtempo, and disco. The records are organised in custom wooden bins, allowing customers to easily browse the selection before taking their finds to a seating area with headphones to listen.
Coffee, art, and upcoming events
Alongside the vinyl collection, the venue operates as a café and bar. The barista station serves a full menu of specialty coffee, ranging from cortados and flat whites to iced mochas and affogatos, alongside a selection of teas and hot chocolate. The interior features a relaxed setup with a black leather sofa, potted plants, and large pegboard walls displaying independent artwork.
Visitors can purchase the artwork directly off the walls, and the founders have announced plans to host regular events in the space soon. With its mix of specialty coffee, an interactive vinyl selection, and a laid-back environment, the venue offers a distinct new addition to the local music scene.
