Prost! Oktoberfest is returning to Manchester for five whole weeks. The world-famous Bavarian festivities are taking over Albert’s Schloss in September—featuring Munich’s big six biers, Alpine feasting and unforgettable entertainment at the Bier Palace. Best of all, there’s no ticket required; just drop in and soak up the atmosphere.
“Oktoberfest is the highlight of our calendar and this year we are making it even bigger, for even longer,” said James Plant, Head of Innovation at Albert’s Schloss. “Extending the celebrations means more opportunities for guests to experience authentic Munich biers, incredible live entertainment and our biggest programme of Oktoberfest activities to date.”
What is Oktoberfest?
Oktoberfest is a huge folk festival and beer celebration that is held annually in Munich, from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. The festivities, which have been running since 1810, are famous for their amusement rides, traditional Bavarian dishes, and Oktoberfestbier brewed by the six local breweries.
What is happening at Albert’s Schloss?
Albert’s Schloss Manchester will host Oktoberfest-inspired celebrations from Saturday, September 19 until Sunday, October 25, 2026. Last year, more than 30,000 of Munich’s big biers were served at Albert’s Schloss, and it remains the only venue in Manchester to have all six official Oktoberfestbiers from Munich’s legendary breweries.
The festivities launch with a ceremonial keg tapping. From then on, keg tapping ceremonies will take place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. But across the five weeks, expect everything from live Oompah bands to competitive pretzel tossing, and new for 2026, Bier Masterclasses, served with Mini Bratwursts and Haus Pretzels.
If that wasn’t enough, entertainment will run seven days a week, from the theatrical spectacle of Kunst Kabaret evenings, showcasing an elite roster of high-brow performers, to the singalong energy of Jukebox Baby and the late-night party atmosphere of Disko Wunderbar.
What’s on the menu?
It’s not all about the biers: Albert’s Schloss will be serving a range of Alpine-inspired cocktails, including the Oktoberfest Spritz. Meanwhile, The Cook Haus has also created a menu full of Bavarian favourites, like traditional Schweinshaxe and Currywurst, and to finish, a warming Klassic Apple Strudel.
