Four restaurants in Manchester have been named among the very best places to eat and drink in the country. A list of the Top 100 restaurants for 2026 was revealed by the prestigious National Restaurant Awards last night (June 8), with some of Manchester’s top dining spots making the cut.

Climbing up the list dominated by London restaurants was one of Manchester’s Michelin-star restaurants, Skof. Coming in 29th place, the restaurant run by Tom Barnes ranked the highest of all the Manchester venues in the list.
Not far behind Skof were Erst and Higher Ground, placing 37th and 39th, respectively, on the prestigious list. The only other Manchester restaurant on the list was Winsome, which ranked 67th. Housed on Princess Street (adjoining the Whitworth Locke Hotel), Winsome joined the Michelin Guide last year. Overall, Manchester came out as one of the best cities in England, with the most restaurants outside of London featured in the list.
How did the rest of the country fair?
The best restaurant in the country, according to the National Restaurant Awards list, is Bouchon Racine in London. The restaurant was followed by The Ritz in London and Osip in Somerset in joint second place, then closely followed by Lancashire’s acclaimed Moor Hall in Aughton, which holds three Michelin stars, in fifth place.
Several restaurants in the North West region also made the top 100 this year, including Forest Side, Grasmere (23), three-Michelin-star restaurant L’Enclume, Cartmel (34), Henrock, Bowness-on-Windermere (40), and The Cottage in the Wood, Keswick (62),
