As temperatures climb and summer ahead of us, many across Greater Manchester will be searching for the perfect sun-soaked terrace to settle in for the afternoon. And now, a newly released list has done some of the hard work for you.
Manchester’s “fabulous” Didsbury restaurant has been named among the UK’s best for outdoor dining
OpenTable has unveiled its Top 100 Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in the UK for 2026, and several Greater Manchester venues have made the cut including a fabulous Didsbury restaurant known for its spacious terrace and crowd-pleasing menu.
The OpenTable list is based on more than 750,000 verified diner reviews collected between March 2025 and February 2026, alongside dining metrics.
It reflects a growing appetite for outdoor eating, with research showing that two-thirds of UK diners now choose restaurants specifically for their outdoor spaces and are willing to travel up to 45 minutes for the right setting.

Among those recognised are 20 Stories in Manchester city centre, Bar San Juan in Chorlton, The Cherry Tree in Blackrod, and Albert’s in Didsbury, a long-standing local favourite that continues to draw diners in when the sun makes an appearance.
Located on Barlow Moor Road, Albert’s has built a reputation as a go-to for al fresco dining, thanks in part to its large covered and heated terrace, which can seat up to 60 guests.
Described by OpenTable as a “slick, modern space”, the restaurant also accommodates around 160 diners inside, making it a reliable choice whatever the weather decides to do.
Albert’s menu leans towards modern British cuisine with global influences, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Diners can expect everything from crab mac and cheese and crispy masala prawns to more substantial plates like sea bass, smoked cod and lobster ravioli. There’s also a solid selection of steaks, pizzas and lighter dishes, making it well-suited to long, leisurely lunches in the sun.
Of course, no outdoor dining experience is complete without a refreshing drink in hand. The cocktail list features classics such as mojitos, Hugo spritz and Long Island iced teas.
The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, with weekend breakfast also on offer.
With demand for al fresco dining continuing to rise, it’s clear that venues like Albert’s are hitting the mark offering a blend of good food, relaxed atmosphere and, when the weather plays along, a slice of sunshine keeps guests coming back.
