If you weren’t lucky enough to bag tickets to see Mumford & Sons at a free, intimate gig in Manchester do not fear as the band has announced that it will be returning to the city later this year as part of their huge 19-date arena tour. The trio of Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwayne and Ben Lovett that makes up Mumford & Sons will perform at Co-op Live in Manchester on December 3, before heading to Sheffield, Birmingham, Cardiff and finally their home city of London.
The British folk-rock band is set to release their new album, RUSHMERE, on March 28, and are currently out on a global club tour that hit London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town last night, ahead of shows in Sydney and North America. The new arena run will kick off in Stockholm on November 5, and concludes in London on December 10. The band will precede the tour with a big outdoor show at Malahide Castle, Dublin on July 7, where they last performed back in 2019.
Of the band’s return, Rushmere is the spot where it all began for Mumford & Sons. The pond, located on Wimbledon Common in south-west London, is where the trio first hung out and imagined the initial idea of putting a band together. The album was produced by nine-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb and recorded at RCA Studio A in Nashville, in Savannah, GA, and back in the UK at Marcus’ studio in Devon.
