… And it makes for the perfect getaway for pups and their hoomans. Opening in the heart of Spinningfields just seconds away from the likes of Hawksmoor and 20 Stories, Moxy is redefining the ‘affordable stay’, with a real focus on contemporary, New York-style design that puts your average British budget chain to shame. And trust us when we say, the decor does not disappoint.
Grabbing your attention with NYC loft vibes from the minute you walk through the revolving door (a new experience for Secret Manchester’s resident pup, I will admit), it’s clear that the space aims to make guests feel right at home – with comfy seating scattered around the lobby where guests can lounge, drink, work or catch-up.
Proudly ‘young at heart’, the ‘social staycation’ is perfectly located for exploring all that the city has to offer – popping up in the historic building that it shares with Hawksmoor next door and only a stone’s throw away from Spinningfields highlights such as Australasia and The Ivy.
But it’s not just the fantastic location that Moxy has in its arsenel. Boasting social media moments a-plenty, the fun starts as soon as you check-in, with complimentary cocktails served alongside room keys that can be enjoyed alongside great vibes and great music in the ‘social atrium’ – or, as us common folk would say, the lobby.
Bringing an air of Manchester into the space, guests will find quirky Manchester-themed artwork throughout the space, alongside fun touches to enjoy with friends such as a foosball table, card games and board games, as well as brightly coloured pouffe seating, hidden corners, laid-back sofas and seats at the urban-style wrap-around bar. There, guests can get stuck into a menu of light bites, cocktails and more, with an extensive drinks menu on offer, DJ sets every single evening, disco ball sharing cocktails and so much more.
Around the clock, the dedicated barista counter provides guests with their much-needed caffeine fix, Grab n Go snacks and beverages, available anytime a day so you can beat those midnight cravings – something I must say came highly valued after a night of scoffing pizza and sipping cocktails at the new Nell’s pizzeria.
Housing 146 bedrooms, each room is decked out with plush, playful interiors that wouldn’t look out of place in a lavish apartment in Manhattan (think bright and airy with swarve brown leathers!), as well as luxury walk-in showers, TVs with Netflix (admittedly, my dog’s favourite part), LED guidelights and, of course, plenty of space for your four-legged friends to join in on the fun, too.
Moxy is open now, and you can book your stay here.
